Short description

A ship-wrecked man floats ashore on an island in the Pacific Ocean. The island is inhabited by a scientist, Dr. Moreau, who in an experiment has turned beasts into human beings.

What's left behind the scenes

To be ready for filming, the actors playing the animal-men were forced to come in for makeup application at 3 a.m.
During the fight between the bull-man and the tiger, the predator grabbed the stuntman's head with its jaws, but fortunately, he was wearing a protective helmet.
The film was released approximately 81 years after the publication of the novel of the same name (1896) by Herbert George Wells (1866-1946).
In the 1980s, the new wave rock band Oingo Boingo, with ska elements, performed a song called “No Spill Blood,” based on this film.
