What's left behind the scenes

  • The character Wolf-Lone Morales owes his name to a combination of the nickname of a real Texas Ranger captain and the surname of his on-screen portrayal in Charles B. Pierce's 1976 thriller.
  • Deputy Sheriff Tillman, played by Gary Cole, is named after Tillman Johnson, who actually served in the same position in Miller County.
  • John Donnell played the role of a patrolman nicknamed Sparkplug. This same character also appears in the 1976 film «The Town That Dreaded Sundown».
  • Travis Tope's character mentions that his mother is undergoing treatment at the «Trans-Allegheny» mental hospital. A clinic with that name existed in Weston, West Virginia, from 1864 to 1994.
