- The apartment of director Paul Bettany and actress Jennifer Connelly is located directly opposite a homeless shelter that closed after Hurricane Sandy (2012). The film is dedicated to the residents of that shelter.
- Paul Bettany decided to film Jennifer Connelly because of an incident with a homeless man and a twenty-dollar bill. Once, at the entrance to a store, she gave a homeless man $20, and he thanked her. On the way out, she ran into him again, standing with his hand outstretched.
