  • The film is based on Guy Endore's novel 'The Werewolf of Paris'.
  • The only werewolf film made by Hammer Studios.
  • Makeup artist Roy Ashton based the makeup for this film on the makeup Jack P. Pierce used in 'The Wolf Man' (1941).
  • Over five minutes of footage was cut for the UK release due to censorship. Even more scenes were cut for the American release.
  • The first twenty minutes of the film are accompanied by a narration from Don Alfredo. But since he was not a witness to these events, he could not know what happened.
  • During the opening credits, the edges of the contact lenses are clearly visible when a close-up shows the werewolf's eyes.
  • The film is based on the novel "The Parisian Werewolf" by Guy Endore.
