Short description
In the near future, Major is the first of her kind: a human saved from a terrible crash, then cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world's most dangerous criminals.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Originally, it was planned that Margot Robbie would play the lead role, but she declined. Ultimately, the role went to Scarlett Johansson.
  • Sam Riley auditioned for the role that Michael Pitt eventually got.

  • The film was shot primarily in Wellington (New Zealand), as well as in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
  • Most of the men's costumes were sewn by Rembrandt – the last and oldest costume maker in New Zealand.
  • In one scene, Cutter hands Dr. Wellet an ampoule containing a red substance labeled C11H17N3O8. This is the chemical formula for tetrodotoxin – a potent poison of natural origin, found primarily in pufferfish. The most famous of these is the fugu fish.
