During filming, Donnie Yen fainted twice from exhaustion.
During filming in Foshan, Sammo Hung was hospitalized with a heart attack.
During the filming of one scene, Sammo Hung was hit in the face by Darren Shahlavi. He insisted on finishing filming before going to the hospital. Filming continued for another 5 hours, and Hung subsequently received stitches.
In reality, Ip Man did not fight a British boxing champion. In fact, one of his students fought a Russian boxer weighing over 100 kg in Hong Kong and won by knockout.
