- Filming took place primarily on West Dover Road in the town of Pawling, New York, and occasionally in the town of Little Falls, also in New York State.
- Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who played a married couple on screen, are also married in real life. The film used photographs of their actual children.
- Initially, the script contained only one line of dialogue.
- The device worn by Regan is not a hearing aid, but a cochlear implant. This indicates that she has sensorineural hearing loss, meaning her inner ear is damaged. A cochlear implant converts vibrations in the air into neural impulses that the brain perceives as sounds.
- The appearance of the monsters was finalized only during post-production.
- Initially, the creators did not plan to add subtitles to the film, assuming the audience would understand what was happening anyway. Incidentally, the very first trailer was without subtitles. However, during editing, when the scene where Regan argues with her father about hearing aids came up, it was decided to add subtitles only for that dialogue, but ultimately all dialogues in sign language were subtitled.
- John Krasinski participated in the motion capture for one of the monsters.
- Significant blood loss during early labor is not normal and indicates some complications. This explains why Evelyn lost consciousness after giving birth, and why the baby didn't cry for a long time, allowing it to be safely carried to the soundproof room.
- At the 12th minute of the film, when the father checks the available shortwave stations and crosses out the line with Japan, you can notice a typo in the name of the capital: Toyko instead of Tokyo.
- A creature with such acute hearing that it can hear the sound of breaking glass in a basement from several kilometers away in the forest should, in a small, enclosed space, hear not only a person's breathing, but also their heartbeat and blood flowing through their veins. But instead, the creature, and not immediately, hears the sound of a ticking timer, which an ordinary person can hear.
- These creatures are blind, yet they run through the forest at high speed without bumping into trees, and navigate a house perfectly – walking up stairs and opening doors. However, they don't do this using echolocation, otherwise they could determine a person's location, but as long as that person doesn't make a sound, they can't.
