• Filming took place on the grounds of historical monuments and estates in the UK – at the Tower of London, Hatfield House, and Dover Castle.
• Shoppers at the mall didn't recognize Anthony Hopkins in makeup and costume and mistook him for a homeless person.
• The King Lear costumes combined elements of 20th-century and modern clothing. Costume designer Fotini Dimou specifically avoided creating anything futuristic.
• In Ronald Harwood's TV film *The Dresser* (2015), Anthony Hopkins plays an aging actor preparing to go on stage as King Lear.
