Short description
When a train carrying atomic warheads mysteriously crashes in the former Soviet Union, a nuclear specialist discovers the accident is really part of a plot to cover up the theft of the weapons. Assigned to help her recover the missing bombs is a crack Special Forces Colonel.

What's left behind the scenes

  • For the role in this film, George Clooney had to learn how to descend from a helicopter hovering above the ground using a rope.
  • Mimi Leder became the director because executive producer Steven Spielberg liked her work on the series "ER" (1994-2009).
  • George Clooney performed almost all of his stunts himself.
  • The filmmakers scouted several churches looking for one suitable for filming. Several were selected, but when parishioners learned that a film featuring terrorists would be shot there, they began to object, as they did not want their church to be associated with terrorism (even in this way). As a result, the church had to be created using computer technology.
  • When 3 helicopters cross the border of the Russian Federation, inscriptions can be seen on the launch consoles of the Russian missileers: in one frame, "POWER" (obviously a translation of the word 'power'), in another — “VEYAH/VNNZ” and “V'1NOSN'Y POST CHPRAVLENIYA”. The Russian inscriptions on the sacks and boxes in the truck ("Sugar" and "Medication") are written without errors.
