- The film is based on J.K. Rowling's novel 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' (2000).
- They wanted to entrust the direction of the fourth part of the 'Potter' series to Alfonso Cuarón again, but he cited the fact that he would like to finish 'Prisoner of Azkaban' (the third part) first. As a result, the director became the Englishman Mike Newell.
- On February 7, 2004, in London, a "great pilgrimage of little girls" took place: over 3000 candidates came to audition for the role of Cho Chang.
- Rowan Atkinson or John Malkovich were widely tipped for the role of Lord Voldemort, but both candidates dropped out. In June 2004, rumors began circulating that the role would go to Ralph Fiennes. Shortly before filming began, this role remained the only acting vacancy.
- Inspired by Quentin Tarantino's decision to divide his film *Kill Bill* into two parts, the producers wanted to do the same, but director Mike Newell rejected these suggestions outright. The studio's main concern was that it was simply impossible to fit a 734-page book into three hours of screen time.
