• The film was originally titled The Bop Decameron before being changed to Nero Fiddle. Woody Allen changed it when he realized few people would recognize the connection to the collection of novellas called 'The Decameron'.
• Noomi Rapace was considered for the role that Penelope Cruz ultimately received.
