Short description
A world of the very near future in which cattle, fish, and even the family pet can be cloned. But cloning humans is illegal - that is until family man Adam Gibson comes home from work one day to find a clone has replaced him. Taken from his family and plunged into a sinister world he doesn't understand, Gibson must not only save himself from the assassins who must destroy him to protect their secret, but uncover who and what is behind the horrible things happening to him.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The filmmakers were forced to change the spelling of the film's title from “The Sixth Day” to “The 6th Day” to avoid confusion with the previously released film “The Sixth Sense”.
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger delivers his iconic phrase, “I’ll be back,” albeit in a slightly modified form, as he leaves the cloned pet store. He says to the shopkeeper, “I might be back,” to which the shopkeeper confidently replies, “You’ll be back.”
  • The majority of the film was shot in Canada, in Burnaby, Vancouver, Toronto, and Richmond.
