What's left behind the scenes
- Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett, who played the main character's parents in the film, actually got married after filming.
- The screenplay was written in just 6 days.
- During the parade in the film, several people (including a construction worker and a window washer) who had nothing to do with the film are dancing. They were just dancing to the music that was playing, but director John Hughes liked it so much that he told the cameraman to film them.
- For several years, the idea of filming a sequel (like Ferris going to college or getting a job) lingered, but it was eventually abandoned.
- To prepare for filming the scene with the drug addict in the police station, Charlie Sheen deliberately did not sleep for more than two days.
- Cameron's father's 'Ferrari' was not real. Renting a 'Ferrari' would have been quite expensive, so three fiberglass replicas of the car were made.
