What's left behind the scenes
- The gorilla Isabelle was played by special effects artist Tom Woodruff Jr., who also portrayed the Alien in three films.
- Several excessively violent scenes, including a rape scene, were removed from the film during final editing.
- A detailed computer-generated three-dimensional model of Kevin Bacon's body was created for the film, down to the last capillary, and after filming, this program was donated to scientists for research.
- The film was shot in Los Angeles, as well as in Washington, D.C.
- Filming took place over two months – from April 26 to June 25, 1999. However, some episodes were reshot in August.
